Wherever Life Take You – is a great slogan that Ford has for all their vehicles including the mysterious Bronco. I honestly never really knew much about this animal until just recently and how much people admired the mystic surrounding this legendary machine. A client recently contacted me from a small ad I threw up on FaceBook. He saw what I had completed before with the Velocity Blue Outer Banks. Velocity Blue – Cool name and cool colour.
The most recent Bronco Outer Banks I worked on was an awesome colour and named Cactus Grey. The client, Bo, and I discussed some ideas and proof work for matte, satin black, or charcoal with a hood stripe as opposed to the Velocity Blue hood decal. I created a mock up of what it would look like with a custom stripe.
Bo really liked the black stripe but he and his wife were considering white rims on the Bronco and wanted a new mock up. I sent Bo a new design with the custom white stripe.
That was it! We were going with the white stripes. Since the first Bronco had more sharp corners and a hood decal, I had to create a file for rounded corners with a hood stripe to match. Since Bo’s Bronco is brand new he wanted to protect it from the harsh Alberta elements. Bo decided on Paint Protection Film (PPF) for full grill, lights, Bronco Badge, bumper, all 4 fender flares, window pillars and roof trim. He already had factory partial hood and fender PPF. Why not offer protection film on the windshield too?! Bo was happy to have us apply a windshield protection, DYNOflex, designed to significantly reduce the risk of replacing expensive windshields, especially those with Advanced Driving Assistance Systems cameras and sensor (ADAS).
We had pre-planned the order of the white vinyl material, created designs and files, vinyl cutting, PPF, and windshield protection, the previous week. We discussed Plastidip on the black Bronco badge but decided to keep it black. We may white out the black badge and the rear chrome bronco horse in the future.
Bo brought in his Bronco December 6th looking like this, and was able to pick up the next day. I think Bo was a happy camper!
Thank You,
Darryl
